1. Vehicle Use

During the use of the vehicle, the driver (Lessee) is obliged to treat the rented vehicle with care, regularly maintain the vehicle and immediately notify MALBEC Rent-a-Car (Lessor) in case of any problems.

The minimum vehicle usage time is 1 day (24 hours). The allowed exceedance is 59 minutes. After that time, you’ll be charged for the entire day.

2. Unlimited Mileage

The rental price includes unlimited mileage, except when the vehicle is rented for a period of up to 3 days, when the mileage is limited to 200 km per day, and each kilometer exceeded is charged EUR 0.5, ALSO RENT A CAR RESERVES THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO CHANGE THIS ARTICLE DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION AND AGREEMENT WITH THE CLIENT.

3. Deposit and Payment

The deposit is mandatory, and its amount depends on the category of vehicle and the duration of the rent. Deposit and payment of rent can be made in cash or via credit cards (Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Maestro). All payments are made in RSD at the time of renting. The value added tax (VAT) for rental service is included in the rental price.

4. The Driver

The Lessee must be at least 23 years of age and have a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years (the same applies to the other driver). Additional driver is not charged. The vehicle must not be used for illegal purposes (e.g. criminal offences, customs and foreign exchange offences, illegal transport of migrants, etc.), for the paid transport of passengers or goods. THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE for all TRAFFIC offences committed DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD.

5. Insurance

The rental price includes third-party liability insurance up to the amount determined by the compulsory insurance policy.

In the event of an accident, the rent-a-car user is obliged to protect the interests of Malbec and its insurance company by:

– recording the names and addresses of the participants and witnesses of the accident;

– not leaving the damaged vehicle until they have removed it from the accident site and secured it;

– immediately informing Rent-a-Car Malbec about the damage, even if it is minor, as soon as possible;

– in the event of major damage to the vehicle or if there are injured persons in the accident (even when the fault of other persons is obvious), immediately calling and waiting for the arrival of the traffic police authorities to carry out an official investigation;

– submitting a written accident report to Malbec.

5.1 Insurance for damage to the rented vehicle

The purchase of liability for damage to the rented vehicle (“CDW” and “Super CDW”) is included in the published rental price and is valid with the mandatory police record. This insurance does not cover damage to the tires, rims and interior of the vehicle caused by Lessee’s negligence. The participation in the damage is MANDATORY and depends on the type of vehicle, amounting to the first EUR 300 or 20% OF THE ESTIMATED DAMAGE.

5.2 Insurance against theft of a rented vehicle

Liability buy-out in the event of theft of a rented vehicle (“TP” and “Super TP”) is included in the published rental price and is valid with the obligatory report of theft to the police and provided that the Lessee keeps the documents and the key to the vehicle.

5.3 General insurance provision

In cases not covered by the said insurances, the Lessee is obliged to pay 100% of the amount of the damage.

6. Border Crossing

Crossing the border is not charged if the vehicle crosses the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia. Crossing the border to any other country is allowed only with the approval of the Malbec dispatcher and is charged EUR 35!

7. Vehicle Cleanliness

The Lessee should return the vehicle in the same state of cleanliness as it was collected. If it is not possible to wash the vehicle before returning it, the Lessee may pay a transfer in the amount of EUR 10.

8. Fuel in the vehicle

Fuel is not included in the rental price, and all fuel costs will be borne by the Lessee. The vehicle is issued with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank near the Airport/New Belgrade (up to 10 km distance).
